I'm such a huge fanboy of Sam & Max with their twisted humor and fresh off the amazing Tales of Monkey Island series, Telltale games really has taken adventure gaming to the next level yet again. The plot is more twisted and weird compared to the previous episodes (which is a good thing, being more inspired by the comics) with Max obtaining psychic powers that results in absolute hilarity while the two battle a new nemesis from space. This is probably the best Sam & Max game yet (yes even better than the classic 1993 hit the road game) and anyone who loves point and click game or just love to laugh should pick this up for sure!

Splinter Cell: Conviction

I'd admit that I always wanted to get into the Splinter Cell series but the slow pace and punishing game play always threw me off. This game however is a complete overhaul for its game play and I loved every second of it. You play once again as Sam Fisher, a former agent who's now gone rogue in search of his daughter's killer while uncovering a bigger conspiracy. I have never felt a stealth action game be so quick paced before and the game play changes they have done to the series makes it a better game. Sure you still can't run and gun in the game but you can stand a chance in a shoot out if you plan your actions right which I really appreciated since the other games were horrible for that. If you ever wanted to play a game that really made you feel like Jason Bourne or Jack Bauer you will eat this up for sure!

Perfect Dark 360

One of the best N64 games ever got ported to the 360 with updated controls, graphics, and online gameplay. It plays like a dream and if you ever had fond memories of playing the original, then check out this port/update as its really cheap. Oh and the farsight is still a beast and cheap to use!

Final Fantasy XIII

What can I say? Its a new Final Fantasy and its presentation is always impressing me. I also love how they simplified the game play and made it more accessible for newcomers yet at the same time having a hidden depth to it. The game is basically like Final Fantasy X without Tidus in it and thats a huge plus for me, always hated that guy with that annoying laugh and all...

The Anime-Niac's Winter Season 2010 Review

It occurs to me, now that the Spring season is upon us, that I never did do a review of the Winter season before it like I usually do. So, in order to fix this error, I now bring you a post-season look at the Winter 2010 anime season.

Durarara

Oh man I love this series. This series is set in Ikebukuro, one of the downtown Tokyo areas for those who don’t know. It’s a slice of life series, but it really manages to put a fresh spin on slice of life style storytelling. Every character is unique, and in most cases, absolutely awesome in so many ways. From the black, Russian, sushi chef, to the guy who throws vending machines at people, to the headless, Irish fairy with a scythe that rides around on a motorcycle that neighs like a horse. All the characters all stand out so well on their own, and yet they have such good chemistry together, that it’s hard not to enjoy each and every episode immensely.

Hands down, this is the best anime of 2010 so far. That said, I hope something better than this comes out in future, because that would mean we’re starting to get back into really good anime and less Moe bullshit…

Sora no Woto

Speaking of Moe bullshit… This series kind of existed during the Winter season. Now, Fleets and Chuck are of the opinion that this show sucked ass, and I won’t argue with them too much. It was nothing spectacular, the plotline was rehashed from pretty much every anime known to man, and the character designs were stolen completely from a certain other popular Moe series that wasn’t even a year old yet when they did it. This show is like someone said “Hey, let’s put the K-ON girls in the military! It’ll sell!”. Anyways, I digress, it honestly isn’t the worst anime I’ve ever seen. Parts of it made me laugh, just as much made me facepalm, but it got a few laughs. In my opinion, there was one saving grace for this show, the music. As you’d expect from a show with a title that translates into “Sounds of the Sky”, the music is really well done. I mean, first there’s the opening theme, which I absolutely loved, and then there’s the background music that actually matched the scenes really well. Also, throwing an orchestral version of Amazing Grace into the series as an insert from time to time helped quite a bit. The ending… meh, could have done with or without it, but still, music was awesome. So, if you’re like me, and you’ve stuck with a series to the end just because of the music, I’d give this a try.

Dance in the Vampire Bund

Well, this series was a disappointment. It started off rather good, and then after the first few episodes it kind of took a nosedive. In fact, I almost thought it was a Gonzo series for a while there, and then I remembered that they went bankrupt. No, this piece of shit was made by Shaft, a company that’s had a really good track record in the last few years as far as I’m concerned. It shocked me that they fucked it up that hard. Anyways, the series is about the Queen of the Vampires bringing her people into the public eye, and making a kingdom for them just off of Japan… after paying off the entire country to do so by paying off their national debt all in one go. The story revolves around all the issues that arise from this sudden movement, and mainly the Queen’s favourite servant, a werewolf named Akira’s, involvement in it all. Good start, looked promising, and then just fell through towards the end. It just seemed pointless after the first half of the series, and that pointless arc was very rushed to boot. This show gets a big fail from me.

Seikon no Qwasar

Ugh… someone remind me why I’m still watching this? Oh yeah… Anyways, Seikon no Quasar, the show about a group of individuals who each have control of an element of the periodic table, and recover their power to do so by drinking fresh breast milk straight from a woman’s breasts. Yep. It’s just as bad as it sounds. The series itself isn’t actually that bad mind you, but there’s one glaring little issue with it… censorship. Now, I can understand covering up certain parts in the name of censorship, using randomly place leaves and fog to cover up parts that can’t be shown on tv. However, that’s not what they did here. Instead, they mess with the camera angles. That’s right, the fight is happening, a big moment they put a lot of effort into animating, and what do they do? They tilt the fucking camera up to stare at clouds. Makes the show unwatchable. No matter how bad a show is, if we’re watching it, it means we want to see the fucking action! We don’t want to hear it while staring at a nearby tree! Why am I still watching it? Uncut directors edition… low quality internet streaming, but still better than the 720p tv version…

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

This series is about a school where students have the ability to summon chibi clones of themselves with attack power and HP based on their grades in order to do battle with each other for various reasons. In particular, it’s about the F class, the guys with the lowest grades in the school and their quest to prove that they aren’t useless like everyone seems to be believe, and that grades aren’t everything. That said, for a series that had that combat system set up so early on as a major plot point, there really wasn’t all that much combat. The actual battles only really took place in the first episode, and the final two. In between was your pretty standard high school anime full of running gags that got stale after the first two times you saw them. When the battles were taking place, the series was good, the strategies used were interesting, and it was fun to watch. In between, it was nothing special, and actually fairly boring. Make of this what you will, it had its good points, but largely the show failed to deliver. I don’t recommend it, but I won’t recommend you avoid it either.

Ookamikakushi

This show is like what you’d get if you combined the writers that did Higurashi, with the character designers from Peach Pit (creators of Dears, Rozen Maiden, etc). Creepy mystery plotline where no real information about what’s going on is revealed until the end of the series, with cutesy character designs. The show itself was pretty good, though Fleets will likely disagree with that statement. The mystery kept me hooked for the entire series, and they revealed the information about it so sparingly that it kept you interested for the entire thing, as well as confusing you at points with certain details that made you throw away all your assumptions. It was well executed, and didn’t continue on much past the point where the mystery was finally solved, and all issues therein were resolved. I’d definitely recommend people take a look at this series, as it’s definitely one of my top picks for the season.

Omamori Himari

Standard, in every single way, that’s probably the best way to explain this series. Fanservice everywhere, demons fighting each other, and the main character not only surrounded by women, but has some sort of mysterious power hidden within him that is supposed to make him one of the most powerful people in the world. Above all else, the female lead is constantly emo about how it isn’t right for her to be around the main character despite him, and every other character in the show constantly reassuring her that they all want her to be with them. There is nothing original about this series, at all. It reeks of having its plotline stolen from everywhere else. That said though, it’s definitely a Chuck anime, tits and fighting everywhere. Honestly, at very least, when it stole things from every other anime in existence, it only picked up the good things… well, aside from that little quality about the female lead that always pissed me off. Anyways, not the best show, but it’s at least watchable.

Ladies vs. Butlers

Oh man, this show… I honestly think this series could have traded television stations with Seikon no Qwasar to avoid the whole censorship issue as the guys who aired this seem to have no problem with showing absolutely everything. I mean, seriously, this is the kind of show that usually gets through fine with light censorship here and there, a leaf from a strategically placed tree blocking view of things and so forth. Instead, we get full on nudity at every turn. Not that I’m complaining, just noticing that the more extreme series ended up on a station that cared, and this one didn’t.

Anyways, the series is about a new transfer student at a school for rich kids, where the rich students study alongside their future maids and butlers. However, there’s only one male in the rich kid half, and three guys total in the servant half. Anyways, the series involves the interactions between him and all the other students, usually resulting in some fairly racy scenes. Anyways, series ends up focusing on the fact that two of the girls in the rich class are competing over him, but who cares, because he never fucking even noticed any of that… seriously, this guy was dense even by anime male standards. So yeah, once again, decent show, not really a must see, but it’s a great way to kill time if you need to.

Chu-bra

I don’t even know how to describe this show properly… I mean, this was perhaps one of the most well disguised shows of the season. I mean, the plot summary makes it look like one of the most creepy anime every made, but it’s really not. Anyways, since I have to say this eventually, I’ll just do it. This series is about a group of middle school girls as they learn all about underwear to suit their developing bodies, and as they make a school club to study underwear and spread the knowledge to anyone willing to learn. Yep… that’s pretty much the plot synopsis. However, this series was actually kind of light-hearted and cute. For one, the main character, Nayu, had a legitimate interest in women’s underwear, for purposes of comfort and function. Her Grandmother and her older brother were both underwear designers, and lord knows it looks like she was going to be doing that too. That mentality of hers actually draws in a lot of other people and makes them interested in it as well. It even sort of makes fun of what we’re all inevitably thinking about the plot of this series. Everyone in the show who seems to think of underwear as something erotic or naughty is shown as an idiot, a bitch, or a misguided individual who gets set on the right path by the main characters. This series was actually a lot better than I originally assumed it would be, and I recommend people give it a look.

Boku Otaryman

There’s always one of these… every god damned season. That one thing that I’m looking forward to, that I’ve heard great things about, and I wait for... So someone please tell me… WHY HAS NO ONE SUBBED THIS YET?!?!?! I mean, I don’t even see so much as a raw out for this on the internet. Why must people always do this? The series is about a working man, who is also an otaku. Far from the usual stereotype where Otaku usually get shown as Hikkikomori, or complete geeks, he’s a working individual supporting himself, and his hobby. The manga is well liked, and it’s a decently popular series, so why has it not been subbed? *sigh* Well, I hope it gets done soon…

Katanagatari

Considering this series is only four episodes in by this point, it really feels like I’m doing a first impressions review here. Anyways, the series is about a man named Shichika, heir to a martial arts style known a Kyotoryu, a martial art that has been given the title, “The strongest style of swordsmanship, which uses no sword”. That’s right, it is an unarmed martial art that focuses on disarming armed opponents, or otherwise breaking their weapon. It also treats the arms and legs of the user’s body much like blades in how it works, but this is all technical babble. Anyways, his entire family was exiled to a deserted island because the Shogun feared his father, despite the fact that his father single-handedly squashed a rebellion for him. One day, a young girl working for the Shogun comes to the island, begging him to help her on a quest to gather 12 famous swords from all corners of the country. Why would she resort to asking someone her lord exiled? Because she’s been betrayed by all those who were sent to follow her. The ninjas worked for money, but the swords were each worth far more than the Shogun could pay, so they took the information and ran. The samurai she had with her worked for honour, but the honour of wielding one of these swords was far greater, and so he left her side with one of the blades in hand. In the end, she found she couldn’t trust anyone who worked for money or honour, and so she came to him hoping to find someone who would work for the only reason left. Love. She came into his home, sat down, and asked him to fall for her. I never said she was the brightest person in the world.

Anyways, the show follows them as they work to get their hands on all the swords, fighting off many opponents, including the current owners, and the ninjas who are out to steal them. What’s interesting to note, is that the novels this is based on were written by the same author as Bakemonogatari, and you can really tell. The way this show does its dialogue is very similar to Bakemonogatari, the circular conversations that never seem to go anywhere, and yet never leave you bored for a moment, and yet this show knows exactly how to combine that with awesome action scenes. Anyways, the reason this show is only 4 episodes in at present is because it’s not airing on a normal schedule. This series airs once every two weeks or so, but the episodes are an hour long each, so it’s very worth it in the end. It’s an awesome series that keeps you waiting an wanting the next episode, and everyone should give it a watch.

Anyways, that’s it for what I watched in the winter season. Look forward to seeing my first impressions of the Spring season the minute someone subs Uraboku.

…Wait… someone already has? You'd think an apocalypse movie about a angel turning his back against god to help humanity would be cool but no, they had to be stuck in a fucking diner throughout the whole movie with nothing but idiotic cliche horror survivors who suck at having any rational thought whatsoever. Oh and all that crazy action shown in the previews you may ask? There was barely any action in the movie whatsoever, we were so completely bored out of our minds, my friend actually fell asleep during the movie and it was only 20 minutes in! It then really fustrated me when the movie decided half way through it was going to be a terminator rip off and completely steal the entire plot of a fucking 26 year old movie. Seriously what the fuck?!? And on top of that, the entire ending was a complete mess, not knowing how the fuck
spoilers:

a teenager can die in a car crash yet a fucking baby can survive it!

end spoilers:
And the movie can't decided at the end whether the entire conflict was solved or not. I'm so glad I didn't pay to see that movie considering it was probably one of the most insulting movies I've seen in awhile, holy fucking shit...

300 Anime Songs

300 Anime Songs

I found that on Sankaku, and I gotta say, it's really hard... Blaz Blue
I love to casually play 2D fighters though I never really cared much for the character designs of series such as street fighter or king of fighters. I was always into the crazy fighters such as Darkstalkers (Felicia for the win!) and guilty gear and Blaz Blue was right up that alley with gorgeous 2d visuals, a deep story mode, and great online play. This easily beat Street Fighter 4 this year for best fighting game of the year.

9. The Beatles: Rock Band
Rock Band has always been my favorite out of the plastic guitar game series and Harmonix really knocked it out of the park with The Beatles. Its everything a fan would want out of a Beatles game with behinds the scenes footage, classic songs you will never get tired of playing, and trippy visuals. I also love the fact that Harmonix took some cues from the newer Guitar Hero games and put a timer when you unpause the game.

8. Dragon Age: Origins
This game is extremely fucking deep. Every time I play the game I feel like I barely scratched the surface. It also plays almost exactly like Star Wars: Knights of the old republic and that game was my crack when it first came out so this will have me hooked for awhile when you add in all the custom fan made quests and various dlc.

7. Borderlands
This is what Fallout 3 should of been. Online coop, a true marriage of fps and rpg action, and collecting over a billion guns truly makes for some addicting gameplay. Definably one of the biggest surprises of 2009.

6. Brutal Legend
When Tim Schafer makes a new game, I have no choice but to buy it without any question, even if it sounds too good to be true. A homage to heavy metal starring Jack Black, Ozzy, and other big stars combined with an open world action adventure mixed with vehicular combat and rts sections. Its very funny and very different which makes this game a breath of fresh air compared to all the other releases out this year.

5. Assassin's Creed 2
Holy fucking shit... Where the hell did this come from?!? I absolutely loathed the first game as it had loads of promise but the repetitive gameplay and frustrating plot points near the end of the game just enraged me to no end which I didn't even want to play the sequel. After getting my hands on it however, I haven't been able to put it down. Every single problem I had with the original has been fixed and I love the fact that the main character is a much more likable than Altair (who was an extreme douche in the original). Biggest surprise of 2009 for me... well except for the next game.

4. Tales of Monkey Island
HOLY FUCKING SHIT, HELL HAS TRULY FROZEN OVER! It's been a decade since we've last seen Guybrush Threepwood and since the announcement at E3 that Monkey Island is getting revived by Telltale games, I was in complete fan boy bliss. What I did not expect however, was how this episodic series really evolved the characters in a more darker and mature way while still keeping the comedy intact. This series is right up there with Monkey Island 2 and 3 and anyone who enjoys Lucasarts adventure games should definably pick this up, RIGHT NOW!.

3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
This game is crack, period! Once you start playing this game, you will never put it down. The online is robust and addicting, the single player is an incredible ride, and spec ops is a cool alternative to a co op campaign.

2. New Super Mario Bros Wii
This is the true sequel to Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World, that's how good this game truly is. 4 player coop is really fun and the game is probably the hardest Mario platformer I've played yet.

1. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
No game this year had me excited more than Uncharted 2. The first game became one of my favorite games due to the combination of platforming and 3rd person cover based shooting with a well written plot inspired by pulp adventures such as Raiders of the Lost Ark. The sequel blows everything about the original in the water as every single moment of the game feels like a huge action set piece you'd expect from like a final level or a Hollywood blockbuster. The graphics are amazing, the multiplayer is addicting with aspects of cod 4 in its interface, and the story is mind blowingly great. This is the next step in interactive entertainment and I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog does next for Nathan Drake.

Top 12 Anime of 2009

Well, it’s that time of year again, 2009 is coming to an end, and 2010 is right around the corner. So, I’ve decided to take a look back at all the new anime that have come out in the last year, and in doing so have come up with the list of my top 10 anime of 2009, however, I couldn’t bring myself to cut down the list any further, so instead, this will now be a top 12 list. That’s just how things work out.

Sadly disqualified from this list are Toradora and Casshern Sins, both for having aired in 2008, and therefore neither counts despite the fact that they ended back in March. Anyways, here we go.

Special Mention: Sora no Otoshimono

This is a pretty crappy show, I have to admit. It’s stereotypical in every way, fanservice everywhere, and no real story to speak of. However, this is what all bad anime should strive to be like. Despite being bad, it was still a really enjoyable series. I mean, when you have an entire episode dedicated to panties taking off into the shy and flying all over the world like a flock of birds, your audience just laughed themselves into watching the whole series.

12. NEEDLESS

Hell yes, this show was just awesome in every way… Needlessly so. I mentioned it back in my Summer 2009 review on the Starhill forums, but it deserves a repeat. People with superpowers beating the crap out of each other, awesome characters, and just one major battle after another. This show was nothing but pure awesome the whole way through, well… until episode 23, then I sad-faced… I won’t say why, but trust me, watch it and you’ll see. It’s still worth it. Not to mention the opening theme, Modern Strange Cowboy by Granrodeo, one of my favourite bands, just makes this series even better.

11. Nyan Koi!

Yeah, who the hell expected this to be on this list back in October? I, as well as most other people, went into this series with absolutely no expectations. I expected it to be entertaining, but good? No, hell no, I was expecting some laughs at the expense of the main character, and some sympathizing due to a shared dislike of cats. No one expected anything from this show, but holy shit did it deliver. It had some pretty solid romantic drama, without resorting to fanservice more than needed. The storyline was good too, ended on a good note. I look forward to the second season that’s already been green-lit, since the series should have been 26 episodes in the first place.

10. Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-Hen

Well, it’s a Nagai series, it was bound to make this list. In all honesty though, this series was incredibly awesome. The story was amazing, kept you hooked, the combat was intense and well done, and the story managed to please even hardcore Mazinger fans, which is impressive considering it was a remake of the original with a new story. It actually managed to stay true to the original characters and plotline while completely changing it for a more modern audience. I watched it and was taking note of all the moments borrowed from the manga, and every other Mazinger series to come before it, and still managed to bring it all together into a solid series. All that lands it at my umber ten spot.

9. Hanasakeru Seishounen

Now, this series apparently got a lot of negative sentiment from people, and very few actually watched it. In fact, when Fleets saw I was ranking it this high, he commented that he had assumed it was a really bad series. Not to mention how every fansub group doing it dropped this series at around episode 10. It’s just one of those things that the community generally despises, but that’s not always a good way to judge it. The online community has a habit of ignoring anything that attempts to be artsy… such as anything to do with classic literature… I still want my Sangoku Engi subs by the way. Anyways, the series is much better than people give it credit for, and the plotline is new and fresh as well. Yes, it’s a romance series, and yes it’s full of bishounen guys, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. It seems the better part of the community sees that and then ignores it because large numbers of bishounen guys tend to mean shounen-ai overtones. People need to understand that’s not a bad thing, even if you’re not into that, those series can be some of the best, just look at Ouran and Kyou Kara Maoh. Anyways, great plotline, with amazing drama, and a twist towards the end that admittedly would have been more of a surprise if they hadn’t changed the opening theme to showcase it about five episodes before it happened. Still, it was a great series, and I’m going to be sorry to see it end.

8. Umineko no Naku Koro ni

This series just yanked you around from beginning to end, in fact, the ending just took you off your high horse and pitched you into a ditch. Trying to figure out exactly how all the murders were really being done was a weird challenge in the first arc, but was suddenly made harder the second time around when they started showing you how they were supposedly done, and yet telling you that it wasn’t afterwards. Every time you thought you had a handle on what was going on, suddenly you were completely in the dark again. It was a well done series, and it was amazingly suspenseful, the only reason it’s this low is because I’m still kind of pissed about that ending. I mean seriously, I kind of expected they’d do that, but shit… to tell us that every conclusion the main character had come to was completely wrong and then just end it… dick move.

7. Umi Monogatari ~Anata ga Ite Kureta Koto~

I don’t know what I was expecting when I started this series, but it definitely wasn’t a magical girl series. That aside though, plotline was interesting, music was amazing and incredibly haunting at times, and the characters were deep and interesting. There was none of that shounen series ultimate power-up to beat the final boss crap either, though I won’t spoil the ending. I’ll just say that the opening theme for the last episode made my skin crawl. It was the same song as always, but the slight change in the animation for it made such a major difference to how it felt. It still gives me chills to think about it. Awesome series, I recommend it to everyone.

6. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

I knew this series was going to be good right from the beginning, and man was I right. It was new grounds for Bones, the first time in a while something they made didn’t have mechs or supernatural powers of some kind as far as I know. The entire show was just a drama about a major natural disaster that completely destroyed Tokyo, the after-effects, and a group of people trying to get home to make sure their family was alright. The series always kept you on the edge of your seat, and they pulled a major twist towards the end that even I didn’t see coming. A great series, the perfect length, great ending, everyone should see this if they haven’t already.

5. Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~

A series about a set of assassins brainwashed, turned into trained killing machines, and used to help create the biggest crime syndicate to ever exist. Lots of interpersonal drama, cool action scenes, and moments where the main characters are quite possibly the most terrifying thing you have ever seen. The series pulled itself off really well, despite being based on a short OVA, that was based on an H-game… or so I’m told. The action was awesome, the drama was even better, and that ending. You knew it had to end like that, there was no way around it, but in your heart, you just wished it wouldn’t. I will say no more so as to not spoil the series, but do yourselves a favour and watch it, it’s well worth your time.

4. Aoi Hana

Hands down, one of the best anime to come out in the Summer 2009 season. It was good drama, good romantic plot, a bit sad a lot of the time, but that’s somewhat expected with a yuri series. It’s hard to explain why this series was so good, but I looked forward to each new episode so much. It was just a really addictive show. So if you like good romance, and don’t mind if it’s between girls, then I suggest you check this series out.

3. Bakemonogatari

This show surprised a lot of people. A show made up of smaller story arcs, each one dealing with a supernatural problem centering around a single character. This show quickly became quite possibly the most popular series of the summer season, so good that Shaft announced they would make three extra episodes after it finished airing in September, to be streamed on their website. The series was interesting, the characters were good, and the relationships between them were also well done. At the end of the day, the entire series came down to interpersonal drama, and each character taking a look at their own deepest darkest thoughts and desires. Bakemonogatari is definitely one of the best anime this year, quite possibly one of very few popular anime that are actually worthy of all the hype surrounding them.

2. Eden of the East

This show just floored me in so many ways. The voices, the music, the entire package was just really well done. The storyline was interesting, entertaining, and kept throwing you for a loop, and the characters were great, especially Takizawa, that guy was awesome. The end of the series was absolutely epic too, and left it open just enough for the two movies to come to wrap it all up nicely. I’m looking forward to those movies so much.

1. Kimi ni Todoke

This just had to be here, and most of the people on Starhill know exactly why. This show is just amazing, and manages to deliver to pretty much every demographic. The main character is just so lovable, you just want to hug her and protect her, and when an animated series can summon that kind of emotion, you know someone did something right. In fact, why the hell are you still reading this? If you haven’t started watching this yet, go do it! Now!

Explanation for everything folks!

Ok its time for Adam to be serious face here...

Obviously there has been some conflicts as of late between Ichida and some other Star Hill members here. Earlier today I was chatting with my best friend/roomie Phawx about us playing New Super Mario Bros Wii which quickly turned into shit talking. Short story is we created a bet to see who's the better Mario player.

The rules are:
Person who loses the least amount of lives wins.
No sabotaging the other player (throwing them off a cliff and such).
Only play through one world (though it has to be a hard one).

If I win, Phawx is forced to watch the entire first season of Lost in a month (that will get her sucked into the series, muh ha ha ha). If she wins however... I'll be forced to get her 3000 achievement points in a month... If either of us doesn't come through with our punishments, something more severe will happen (no I won't be getting kicked in the balls Fleets!). I hope to god I win this as if I don't I'll be 0-3. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE, SERIOUSLY FUCK THAT MOVIE AND EVERYTHING IT STANDS FOR! FUCK THE SPARKLE, FUCK THE SHITTY ROMANCE PLOT (its so fucking horribly written) AND FUCK THE FAN GIRLS THAT MADE IT THIS POPULAR. It's also a lot harder than the first game. Enemy AI is better, and your AI teammates are dumber. Dicks...

2 Campaigns done in one day, one of them twice to get Kevin and Brent the achievement that only I got the first time through. Me and Kevin could smoke a campaign on Normal just the two of us in the first game, but holy shit did we die a lot in this one... ON EASY!

...level 5 of The Parish... holy shit... I truly want to believe that that is the hardest level in that game... Not since Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann has there been such a reality-fucking ending that took forever! I thought Chapter XIV was the final boss because it was epic and multi-level, but boy was I wrong! After barely making it through battling on top of missiles flying around a city, Chapter XV was climbing the huge tower, then Chapter XVI was the man-behind-the-curtain boss, which was even more epic and had even more phases, so I thought THAT was the final boss. Wrong again. The battle takes off into space for the finale.

Spoiler alert! Highlight text to read.

--> The final boss is God. Or this world's version of God. Also it's a woman. Or whatever you'd call an omnipotent being with eight huge wings, a feminine frame, and breasts. This fight had at least four or five phases to it, and death brings you all the way back. Yes, this took at least an hour. USE DURGA FLAME KICKS ON ITS HAND. Oh, and after I squeaked past that fight, it's the last-ditch-time-battle-or-the-world-dies, as the God you just beat turns back into a statue and you have to smash it before it crashes into the planet. And that's the last story battle. But since every Chapter has to have ten "verses," there were more fights during the CREDITS, and they were all obviously time-limited battles. Since I had just spent all my dexterity on the major boss, I only managed to win one of them. <--

Phew... so, all in all, despite all my RAGE, I actually enjoyed this game. A LOT. And I don't normally play action games or things this gorey. A definite buy for anyone (over 17 :P).

Interstella 1337 - the Epic of the Universe

Once, there was a dot.

In the infinite blackness of space, a small star was born. It was so magnificent, that it attracted others of its kind. Two longer white essences came and joined the star. They played their cosmic game of catch and pass, and all was good in the world.

As the universe continued to form, there were more stars. Stars which evolved and took on many different forms. The original star, Pong Atari, grew, expanded, and spawned others like it. Other Atari. It reigned supreme over the universe, populated by others such as Coleco, Game & Watch, and the Commodore.

Things were peaceful for a time, but these stars were immature and underdeveloped, and eventually their strife and conflict caused their mutual self-destruction.

It was around this era that a very special star formed. This star was named Sega. It represented promise and potential for this universe. Sega, upon its own roots, began forming two powerful stars; the Master System and the Game Gear, designed to usher in a new era for all the denizens of the universe.

This star's radiance was such that others became inspired to evolve as well. These stars took on names and grew at a rate that rivalled the Master System. The most prominent among these stars was Nintendo, as well as the revived Atari. Nintendo was born with such foresight that it branched itself off into its own miniature galaxy, formed of many different prominent stars, naming its two major halves NES and Game Boy. As the NES system continued to evolve as itself, the Game Boy was a wild spirit, as it branched off further into many variations: Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Light, and such.

Meanwhile, Sega had finally perfected itself, as its pride and joy, the Master System, evolved into many different forms, all of which live on in the annuls of history, including the Genesis, the Mega Drive, and the Sega CD. The Game Gear, however, faded into darkness, long before its time. At the same time, a strange foreign star known as SNK had produced the Neo-Geo, an oddly formed star that marvelled at its own artistic beauty.

Nintendo would not be outdone. The hidden and savage competitive nature between these star systems had made itself known. Its stable half, the NES, evolved into the SNES, and shone with a spectral brilliance that echoed throughout the galaxy. Many of the stars the SNES spawned are still shining today. In addition, the Game Boy followed suit and evolved into the Super Game Boy.

The wars to control the galaxy continued for eons. While Atari struggled to maintain its own existence, a new power entered existence. This already-powerful giant was named Sony. With its most prominent masterpiece, the PlayStation, the sides had begun to make themselves clear. Gradually, then suddenly, the other stars faded, submitting to the shine of the three biggest star systems, Nintendo, Sega, and Sony. What would turn into the greatest war known to man had begun.

As Nintendo grew further and further, expanding itself into new dimensions, it became the Nintendo 64 and the Game Boy Advance, which again spawned others; the Game Boy Advance SP, the Game Boy Micro, and so on. Sega, long tired of the wars, made its final stand. The last shine of brilliance it produced was the wondrous Dreamcast star. However, it was short-lived; Sega, as the oldest of the modern star systems, had lived its lifespan. Shortly after creating the Dreamcast, Sega buckled and began to fade. As a final, desperate move, Sega fractured itself, and surrendered each piece to each of the major systems, living on forever inside each. Sega would never be forgotten.

The last piece of Sega which floated alone attracted yet another power. The alien star known as Microsoft. It was already locked in a fierce battle with other systems in its own universe, but the clash between this universe had attracted Microsoft, forcing them to take part in the Grand Wars, as they produced their first piece - the Xbox.

The other systems were amused; nobody believed the Xbox would last. However, the Xbox discovered and consumed the final Sega shard, and began to evolve at a blinding rate. It was not long before it was on par with Nintendo and Sony.

For another age the star systems battled for control. As the Xbox continued to evolve, Sony created the PlayStation 2, and Nintendo the Gamecube. Meanwhile, remnants of past systems struggled to revive and create new systems. There were survivors of the Atari, among other new formations such as the NGage and the WonderSwan, but none of them shone very long.

The battle became savage, as new, alien technology merged with the major systems. The PlayStation 3, the Nintendo Wii, and the Xbox 360 clashed as the major trifecta of the universe.

At the same time, the braches of Sony and Nintendo continued to evolve. The PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo DS clashed. While the Portable continued to evolve itself, the DS focused on spawning more and more variations. The DSlite, the DSi, the DSi XL, all came at the PSP with ferocity, though the two remained equals.

To this day, these major powers struggle back and forth, with no clear victor in sight. Each finding the other's weakness. Each reviving past stars to strengthen themselves. Each finding new and creative ways to wage war. It seems as if it will never stop.

However... one of the powers that Microsoft had battled with in a parallel universe was starting to seep through. This power was named Apple. A crazy bitch came into our drive through, bitching her boyfriend didn't get her 4 piece nugget meal. Our manager calmly talked to her, saying she needed a receipt in order to prove her story so we could give her the food which she didn't have. When she found out she wasn't getting any free food, she went absolute batshit insane and drove her car into the second window for drive through and kept it hostage from the other customers until we gave into her demands. At this point I'm laughing my ass off as our manager decided to say "fuck it" and called the cops. A few minutes later, the crazy bitch storms into the store, swearing at us at the top of her lungs while making fun of us for working at a fast food restaurant which is pretty funny how she's making fun of us while shes making a scene over a 4 DOLLAR MEAL! At this point I had to turn around as I couldn't stop laughing over the stupidity of the situation as I didn't want to draw any attention to myself. As soon as our manager told the bitch that the cops were on the way, she quickly bolted out of the store. I fucking love people!

HOLY SHIT!

Crush 40 is coming to Rockband?!?

...TOO MUCH FANGASM GOING ON AT THE MOMENT. Even worse timing for the boy to (for the third time this week) call me asking to use my printer to print his fucking homework. I literally ripped my printer out of my room, hauled it next door, threw it onto their couch, flung the installation disc onto the table, and left, all while mumbling about what a bitch-ass Justitia is. On Normal. BLAAAARGGHHFUCKKKKH. BURN IN UNHOLY FLAME, JUSTITIAAAAAAAAARGH.

I've never been spectacular at action games; I admit that. But this game is really pushing my temper. I've even become better at dodging and Clocking Up... er, I mean using Witch Time. And still it isn't enough. I've lost count of how many battles - not even just bosses - that I've beaten by the skin of my teeth, with not a visible pixel of health left, even after a few health lollies and auto-resurrection. I still don't even have any weaponry beyond Scarborough Fair (pistols), Onyx Roses (shotguns), Shuraba (katana; ben using this 90% of the time), and Durga (claws of flame/lightning), and I'm already at Chapter XIV.

There are four major angelic bosses, and you'll know who they are. The third one in particular was more of a pissoff than any other fight so far. Strangely, the final of the four was the easiest.

The motherfucking air chase sequence at the forefront of Chapter XIV was completely infuriating as I'm used to the opposite inversion of Y-axis flight, so movement was awkward at best. Then, after that, it's a multi-tier boss battle with a major story villain. Usually with these multi-part bosses, if you die during any part of the battle, you return to that part rather than the beginning. NOT THIS TIME. Oh, and since I decided to choose not to Continue after dying (ragequit), instead of hitting Chapter Menu while still alive, I GET TO REPEAT THE AIR CHASE SEQUENCE. GODDAAAAMMMIIIIIITTTTRRRRRRGHH.

Eeuuuughh... People, become VERY dedicated to this game. Be willing to give it your soul, your rage, and ALL of your attention, because it demands it. Before you sit down and play, do EVERYTHING ELSE you need to get done that day, because you will NOT want to be interrupted. You will, as I have, end up lashing out at someone in rage.

I wanted to go through this game again on Hard Mode for the trophies, but unless I gain every weapon and spell, there's just no way I'll be able to do it...!! @~@

God, at this rate, I can only imagine the horrible, infernal rage Demon's Souls players must be feeling... @_<

CoD MW 2

Best CoD Game of all time, It even has riot shields :D

Bayonetta: Post-First Day

So, post-first day of Bayonetta.

My overall reaction? IT'S FUCKING BAYONETTA. That's my answer to anyone who doubts whether this game is worth getting. It's fucking Bayonetta. Your argument is invalid.

Anyways, I'll try not to spoil the story, because EVERYONE NEEDS TO PLAY THIS.

The game is goddamn awesome. First off, the graphics are beautiful, even if the XBOX version has better graphics. Anyone discriminating the two versions for such a miniscule and barely noticeable difference needs to get stuffed in an iron maiden. The settings are vibrant, well-rendered, and all very pleasing to run through, destroy, restore, and battle atop. Hell, the entire first battle scene is done on a huge chunk of a tower as it's spiralling its way down a multi-skyscraper-level cliff, and as you progress through the fight, you can see the horizon, the sky, and the city below, all spinning around you as the camera gives you the illusion that where you're standing is solid ground when in fact it's quite the contrary. Once I really got into it, it began to freak me out a little, too, especially when a huge-ass double-headed dragon with a stone face between its heads shows up and starts pew-pewing flame everywhere.

The combat system in this game truly speaks of the Devil May Cry franchise it spawned off of. It's fast, it's pointy, it's bloody, and it's multi-faceted. Bayonetta starts off with just her foursome of pistols, but over the course of the game you collect other weaponry you take along everywhere, including shotguns, a katana, claws, a whip, and even bazookas, among whatever else I haven't seen. The equipment system is amusingly customizeable, too. How it works is, you have two sets of weaponry you can switch between outside of the menu. For each set, you have a hand slot and a foot slot. You can assign any of your weaponry to any of these four available slots. For example, currently on Set A I have the katana in hand and claws on the feet, and on Set B I have the pistols in hand, and shotguns on the feet, and I can switch between these two sets instantly at any time, even in combat.

The magic in this game is remarkable, too. The Magic Gauge is for your Torture Attacks. (iron maidens, guillotines, other pointy things) You've also no doubt seen those attacks she does where her hair turns into giant fists or stilettos; those are her Wicked Weave attacks. And of course, we have the big baddies - the Infernal Demons, which only come out during Climax Finishing attacks against bosses. All kinds of big bad hair-based demons spawn, including crunchies like a dragon and a raven, and whatever other ones I haven't seen.

The story is alright so far, but from what I've seen, you get sent somewhere on a tip regarding something Bayonetta is looking for, then it goes into "Hey, I think I know you, I'm following you nao," and "Hey, you're a big angel, I'ma chase you and kill you for points." Anyone who actually wants to follow the storyline needs to pay attention; with the dazzling gameplay and... "attractive design" of this game, it's easy to forget why you're doing any of this beyond the sheer fun of violently massacring hoardes of beastly angelic creatures. The game has at least fourteen chapters, maybe more, and I've done about five or six so far.

That's all I have for now. Moar tomorrow.

MW2!!!!!

Just got my copy ^_^ but I got class till 6 T_T

Con't of my Koihime Post

OK Ima Just pick up where I last left off. In a few days I'll be on my own in the world as I'm moving into an apartment with a few friends. It feels weird to me yet scary at the same time as I'll have more responsibilities such as making rent which is very important as other people will be depending on me to contribute a fixed amount each month. It also freaks me out that I can no longer be the kid I wanted to stay as. With all the sudden changes that's been happening to me in the past few months, I've been forced to grow up too quickly, doing things I never thought I would have to do in this stage of my life. Hell, drinking for the first time was weird to me but yet for a person who's about to turn 21, its time for me to leave my childhood. Of course I'm always afraid of failing at this new lifestyle but I have to admit, I'm so happy I have found friends who I can completely trust and rely on, being like my second family. So as I leave my home and grateful for what my family has done for me, it's time for me to accept the hard fact. I have grown up.

<.<

Make the effort to bring (what I believed were) various interesting stories and get heckled for it. To be Honest some of the characters... well most are lesbians. Lets Start with Cao Cao, in the anime "he" is a Lesbian (Most of them are anyways...) They take Cao Cao "obession with Guan Yu" to a Whole 'nother level. They Almost Les'd out, almost. Now I wouldn't mind if I didn't know anything about Romance of the Three Kingdoms but I do, BUT BUT what would be awesome if they show the "Female" Xiahou Dun gets her Eye Shot out and she Eats it, that would be awesome.

Oh Btw, The Ikkitousen Characters are better then the Koihime Characters. Ichigo will witness Aizen's shikai, almost gets killed and then is possibly saved by someone (probably his dad), train for god knows how long, fight aizen again until something else happens, repeat the process again until I get completely fed up and attempt to drop the series until I get sucked in by another awesome fight that seems cool at first until they drag it out, then I'll bitch again but suck it up until something else happens. In the game you play as a roadie named Eddie Riggs who’s voiced by Jack Black as he grows tired of supporting a shitty tween metal band. He soon however gets caught in an accident that transports him to another world full of crazy locations inspired by heavy metal lore. After managing to escape from the dark forces, discovering his knowledge of rock can actually “blow shit up literally”, and meeting up with a bunch of freedom fighters willing to free their land, its up to Eddie to raise an army and take down the evil Doviculus. Of course being a Tim Schafer game you can easily expect the plot to entertain you with all the hilarious dialogue and unique characters. What I didn’t expect however was at times the game gets serious in a good way (kind of like the final act of Shaun of the Dead) which you really care about what happens to the characters. Of course this is a game so game play is obviously important to enhance the experience and Brutal Legend absolutely delivers. The game is a crazy combination of an action adventure game mixed in with an open world mission structure of fable and Grand Theft Auto, with some RTS elements, hack and slash, and vehicular combat. You’re never doing the same thing and every element of the game coexists perfectly with each other. The voice cast is outstanding as well with Jack Black perfecting the role of Eddie Riggs without being too much like Jack Black. The other celebrity cast is completely made up of rock legends such as Lemmy Kilmister, Lita Ford, Rob Halford, and Ozzy Osbourne are all perfect in their roles and are unexpectedly hilarious. The game also has a robust multiplayer mode that takes the rts sections of the game and pits you against another player with three factions to choose from. Overall, if you love heavy metal, enjoy a great mix of game play styles, or just love Tim Schafer’s work you owe it to yourself to check out this game!

OnP Version # Whothefuckcares

Been making some additions to my personal blog, if anyone cares.

Hopefully I'll have something worth posting here soon. :P

OH MY GOD I CAN'T GET OUT!

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Maybe if I speed up the process a bit, but I'm still getting to that. Anyways, this may be a long one, so you may want to get your hands on some snacks and a drink first. For various reasons, I will be skipping most second seasons... mainly because I'm lazy, and anyone who cares is already watching them.

11eyes

An action based show that kind of reminds me of Persona 3 if there were more encounters like the first one at the dorm. Basically, a set of high school students find themselves getting transported into a weird sort of parallel dimension that looks like their world, except everyone else is missing, for a period of time every day. Only difference between this and the dark hour appears to be the colour shift. Persona 3 had green, this show has red. Anyways, weird creatures appear in this alternate reality, very reminiscent of the Shadows from Persona... and the kids are forced to fight for their lives while they try and figure out what is causing this phenomenon. All Persona fans are now asking whether they all have some sort of special power to fight these things... actually, most anime fans are probably thinking that... and the answer is no duh.

What I love about this show, the theme song, its absolutely awesome, what don't I like... three episodes into the series, and absolutely nothing feels like its happened... for a 12 episode series, its moving pretty freaking slowly...

Aoi Bungaku

Yes, there are subs for this now. Go, find them, its worth it. Basically, this show plans to take several classic Japanese short stories, one of which I really like, and animate them. Not sounding that interesting yet? All character designs are being handled by three people... Takeshi Obata, Takeshi Konomi, and Tite Kubo, the original manga creators for Death Note, Prince of Tennis, and Bleach respectively. Got your attention yet? The series so far is really dark, but that's going to be subject to change as they circle between the six short stories they're doing.

My only problem, the lack of fansubs. I mean, come on, ten groups are subbing Kampfer, and only one seemingly slow group is doing this? What's Kampfer? Oh, keep reading and you'll find out...

Fairy Tail

Based on the incredibly popular manga of the same name, Fairy Tail comes as yet another shounen series that will probably never end. The protagonist, Lucy, is a mage that is trying to get into a popular mage guild known as Fairy Tail. In the first episode, she runs across a guy named Natsu, who not only happens to be a mage, but a rather well known member of said guild. Stuff happens, he takes her with him to the guild, and she gets in. Really. No test, no need to prove herself, they just let her in. Apparently the only condition to entering this well known guild is to find its HQ. Anyways, its entertaining, but once again, its looking to be another arc based fighting series that will inevitably go on until no one cares anymore because of all the filler. *coughNarutoandBleachcough*

Anyways, another thing to note is the voice cast. It feature Hirano Aya (Haruhi) as Lucy, Simon from Gurren Lagann as Natsu, and Kugimiya Rie (Shana, Louise, Taiga) as a cat. Listening to Simon's voice actually make an "eat that for breakfast" joke that worked rather literally in context was kind of funny as well.

Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen

Yes, it's back. Do we care? Sort of. Why? They're only giving it 26 episodes. This series will actually cover the ending of the Inuyasha manga, finally ending the series for good. So that means it has 26 episodes to cover 25 volumes of manga from where the first series left off. Wait... what? Doesn't that mean they're doing almost a full volume per episode? Oh right, it's a Rumiko Takahashi manga, its mostly filler anyways.

I would also like to note that I'm watching this despite the fact that I gave up on the first series halfway through. It is one of two shows I've ever actually dropped... though mostly due to YTV's bullshit and not the series itself. Am I going to finish watching the 75 episodes I missed before I start? No. I really don't think I'm missing all that much. He probably got a new sword or something, new flashy move, spent the entire 75 episodes chasing after Naraku in a fun-filled, but rather pointless set of filler arcs only to once again not kill him in the end... Am I about right?

Kampfer

Oh crap, I mentioned it before so now I have to do this... Okay, so Kampfer is a series about a guy, who turns into a girl, to fight other girls who turn into other girls, in some weird sort of game for the amusement of what I can only assume are the game programmers of whatever H-game this show was based on, while being fed information by talking stuffed animals with their intestines hanging out, who are voiced by big name VAs. No really, I can't make this shit up if I tried. I don't think its supposed to make sense, I mean, the series definitely doesn't take itself seriously. As for the VAs, there are so many jokes with the animals about their VAs... like having Tamura Yukari playing the rabbit, and Nana Mizuki playing the cat... the two VAs are best known for playing Nanoha and Fate respectively, and god damn I know there's going to be a joke about that in there somewhere...

Kampfer, at least they put the best part about the series in the title.

...if you didn't get that, I ain't explaining it.

Kimi ni Todoke

I love this series already. It's a shoujo series produced by Production I.G., the studio that brought us Ghost in the Shell, and more recently Eden of the East. Basically it follows a girl named Sawako, who most of her class is afraid of due to her resemblance to Sadako, the little girl from The Ring, as she tries to open up to the people around her and make friends. It also follows her as she completely misses the fact that guy she respects so much has a huge crush on her. I mean, could he make it any more obvious? Hell, I thought they got together after the first episode because he more or less confessed to her at the end. Went right over her head apparently.

Why are you still reading this? Go watch this right now!

Kobato

This show is made by Clamp, what else do you need to know. It's cute, the storyline seems both engaging and interesting at the same time, and it features Inada Tetsu, the voice of the big, burly, gay guy from Ga-Rei Zero as a stuffed blue dog that breathes fire. I think the thing that caught me about this is the fact that Clamp was releasing this manga for years... at the same time as both Tsubasa and xxxHolic, and other little projects... Damn those 4 women can do a lot of work. As far as I know only one of them actually does the art...

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu - Purezza

I can't explain this show as well as I'd like to, so I will provide you with a handy flowchart.

In all seriousness though, watch it. The series is essentially about a high school kid named Ayase Yuuto who discovers that the most popular girl in school is a closet otaku. Though unlike everyone else who's ever found that out, he doesn't ridicule her for it, and the two of them become good friends... though I think from any logical standpoint it's pretty obvious that they were dating from the get-go... no matter what the two of them say. It's a really nice series, and you need to watch it. Do yourself a favour and just do it, you'll be happy you did.

Nyan Koi

The story of this series is about a boy who accidentally breaks a shrine to some sort of cat deity. As a curse, he is given the ability to understand what cats can say, and informed that if he doesn't commit 100 good deeds for cats all over the city, he will be turned into one himself. The real catch here? He's allergic to cats. If he gets turned into a cat, it's worse than just having to learn to live with it... he will literally be allergic to himself and die slowly and painfully. So to prevent that from happening, he has to take the plunge and help the thing that drives him insane. It's a comedy too, so plenty of fun to be had.

I like this series, mainly because I can empathize with the protagonist. I'm allergic to cats too, and the damn things drive me nuts... especially Ichida's cat. Damn thing came to me, started rolling around on the couch next to me like it wanted to be petted. Then it fucking bit me... damn cat.

Also, this show features Fukuyama Jun, voice of Lelouch from Code Geass as a random cat.

Sasameki Koto

The Yuri series of the season, I picked it up mainly because I watched Aoi Hana last season and absolutely loved it. This one, not so much. I mean, it's still good, but it's just lacking in so many ways. Definately not as good of a shoujo pick as Kimi ni Todoke. Basically, it follows two best friends, one of whom is an open lesbian, and the other who is still in the closet, but very much in love with the other. The catch? She's not her friend's type apparently. So the drama all comes from her being emo about being unable to be with the other girl. It's also somewhat slow moving. I swear to god the episodes seem to go so fast... and yet not much actually happened. Good series, cute art style, but not one of the best this season.

For some reason that one background song in this show reminds me of Winny the Pooh…

Seiken no Blacksmith

This series is about Knights, Blacksmiths, a living sword, and apparently people who signed contracts with the devil for power. It's a fairly good action fantasy series, and its been going rather nicely so far. Not much to say about it aside from that. Good start, watch it.

Seitokai no Ichizon

References ahoy! This show is full of them, going so far as to make refences to Dragon Ball Z, Haruhi, Lucky Star, and various other things right in the first five minutes. This show is all about the references and randomness, it has nothing else, but I can't really fault it for that. At least it's doing it better than Lucky Star, and actually has some semblance of a plot behind it all. They even made a Jigoku Shoujo reference, complete with Noto Mamiko voicing the character. That makes it great. Also, they didn't just make a Dragon Ball joke... they made a Dragon Ball Evolution joke.

"We should collect seven spherical objects with stars on them!"
"Evolution..."
"DON'T EVEN SAY THAT! THAT WAS HORRIBLE!"

Sora no Otoshimono

Another "lolwut" series this season. It's a simple of a high school boy who wanted nothing more than a normal life only to have it snatched away as a strange girl literally falls out of the sky. She calls him her master and offers to use her powers to give him whatever he desires. He quickly becomes mad with power, wishing for money, power, and the ability to grope women in the changing room while invisible. He even does a little dance through his school while naked and time is frozen. He then comes to a realization that this power was wrong and he could not abuse it any further.

No, not really, he just cries like a little bitch and abuses the weird girl every episode instead. I can't help but yell at him... he's voiced by Souichiro Hoshi, one of the manliest voices in anime, stop crying!

Anyways decent show, at very least it's fun. Also, flock of panties migrating across the world for the win.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun

Should I even be mentioning this here? I said I wouldn't mention second seasons... though this honestly isn't really a second season, more of a spin-off of Toaru Majutsu no Index. Essential idea is that they took the target audience's (read as loli lovers) favourite minor character and gave her her own show. That's more or less it. I have to admit though, she always seemed like a more interesting character than Touma ever did. Though now I'm starting to question that considering the lack of an actual storyline so far...

Whatever, bottom line, she flicks a coin and gets the same sort of effect as if it were fired from a Railgun. That's kind of awesome.

Anyways, that's it for another season, I'll probably be making another of these come January, not to mention whatever other little random anime comments I come up with in between.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

So I have just finished Uncharted 2, one of the biggest games of the year. I have not been this excited for a game release in awhile (yes, even more than Tales of Monkey Island) and when I was able to get a copy, my heart just raced, knowing I was in for a real treat as I have previously professed my love for the original and played it around 5 times through. I was in love with the game play, the characters, the writing, and yes even the acting, all having influences from pulp adventure serials such as my favorite movie of all time, Raiders of the lost ark. For Nathan Drake's second adventure on the PS3 however, words cannot describe how amazing this game is. EVERYTHING is improved from the original game. The single player campaign is longer, the script writing and acting is top notch and is probably one of the best I've ever seen in a video game, and the set pieces are so unbelievable iconic that the action can really make you bite your nails as you actually care about the characters surviving. There were moments in this game that I have never experienced before, truly bridging the gap between cinematic and interactive entertainment. Oh and there's a very competent multiplayer mode as well on top of that with many features that will have you hooked for months. If you have a PS3, get this game now! And if you don't have a PS3 yet, pick this up along with its prequel, don't miss out on one of the best games of the year, possibly the century. It's that damn good!
<img width='1' height='1' Now ive seen the thing in action and i gotta say...I am definatly buying one

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2009/09/28/amds_ati_eyefinity_technology_review

Theres a video on that page that shows you some of the stuff this beast can do, and even though the model they review is only capable of supporting 3 monitors its stll quite a sight to behold. Theres something about seeinf Call of Duty, Half-Life and Need for Speed on such a large panoramic view that makes me jizz in my pants. Just imagine with a setup like this you'll now never get surprised by a dude jumping out of the side of your vission trying to gun you down. And later on in the video during the shots of NfS with the wheel setup OMG O_O why would anyone want to drive a real car? EVER?! The only downside is theres no crossfire. but i dont think im going to be running up to 12 monitors anytime soon.

And word has it this card is going retail next week. I dont know what the price range for it is yet but someone told me it'd be in the $400 range. Now i just gotta work on getting the money to buy the card, a 3rd monitor, and a new power supply so i can keep this thing fed. Though apparently it only needs 18 watts when idle so power may not be too big of an issue.

Down goes my money and time

Kingdom Hearts DS
Uncharted 2
Brutal Legend
Borderlands
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Left 4 Dead 2 (both pc and 360)
Assassin's Creed 2
Mario and Luigi 3

All this in the next few weeks.... Clearly doing a continuous plot line instead of their usual stand alone episodes is definably producing better results for their episodic model. They are finally doing some new interesting character development with Guybrush through the use of Morgan and creating a rift between his marriage with Elaine. So far I'm really loving the humor and atmosphere which the writers have really nailed down. With only two chapters left, I'm really eager to finish the story and I'm ready to say this is so far shaping up to be better than my favorite game in the series, Curse of Monkey Island. Keep up the great work Telltale!
