ATI Eyefinity

For those of you who listen to SHR I mentioned during the news segment a few episodes back about a new series of video cards from ATI with the ability to support up to 6 monitors all running off one card and able to display crazy resolutions. Now ive seen the thing in action and i gotta say...I am definatly buying one

Theres a video on that page that shows you some of the stuff this beast can do, and even though the model they review is only capable of supporting 3 monitors its stll quite a sight to behold. Theres something about seeinf Call of Duty, Half-Life and Need for Speed on such a large panoramic view that makes me jizz in my pants. Just imagine with a setup like this you'll now never get surprised by a dude jumping out of the side of your vission trying to gun you down. And later on in the video during the shots of NfS with the wheel setup OMG O_O why would anyone want to drive a real car? EVER?! The only downside is theres no crossfire. but i dont think im going to be running up to 12 monitors anytime soon.

And word has it this card is going retail next week. I dont know what the price range for it is yet but someone told me it'd be in the $400 range. Now i just gotta work on getting the money to buy the card, a 3rd monitor, and a new power supply so i can keep this thing fed. Though apparently it only needs 18 watts when idle so power may not be too big of an issue.

Down goes my money and time

Kingdom Hearts DS
Uncharted 2
Brutal Legend
Borderlands
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Left 4 Dead 2 (both pc and 360)
Assassin's Creed 2
Mario and Luigi 3

All this in the next few weeks.... Fuck my life!

Tales of Monkey Island - Chapter 3

So I just finished Chapter 3 of Tales of Monkey Island which released yesterday and so far I'm very impressed with what Telltale is doing with the franchise. Clearly doing a continuous plot line instead of their usual stand alone episodes is definably producing better results for their episodic model. They are finally doing some new interesting character development with Guybrush through the use of Morgan and creating a rift between his marriage with Elaine. So far I'm really loving the humor and atmosphere which the writers have really nailed down. With only two chapters left, I'm really eager to finish the story and I'm ready to say this is so far shaping up to be better than my favorite game in the series, Curse of Monkey Island. Keep up the great work Telltale!
